Jan Witte is a Senior Structural Geologist with 15 years of international exploration experience and has worked in more than 50 basins world-wide. He received his Dipl. Geol., hons. (equiv. MSc, hons.) from Clausthal University, Germany (1999). After working assets in Libya and Argentina for Wintershall he moved on to Repsol’s thrust belt team in Buenos Aires (2007). He was involved with 7 exploration wells in the Neuquen Basin of Argentina, several of them discoveries. He then worked for Talisman Energy, Calgary, evaluating new venture opportunities in North Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Jan also gained skills in commercial, strategic and business planning.

In 2011 he founded Falcon Geo-Consulting, offering his expertise in structurally complex areas and, more specificly, his structural geomodelling skills. He has profound expertise in world-wide fold- and thrust belt provinces, salt tectonics, extensional tectonics and fractured reservoirs. Jan is a hands-on problem solver with strong team and analytical competence. He has published more than 30 papers and talks on hydrocarbon exploration in several languages.
